THROUGH THE EYES OF RESPECT

LET'S OBSERVE THE WORLD

THROUGH THE EYES OF RESPECT

At Wild Fauno, we believe nature is not a stage, it is a living territory that deserves respect.

Our work is rooted in a simple way of thinking: we are visitors. We move with awareness, observe without interfering, and understand that every ecosystem has its own rhythm, balance, and language.

We value wonder as a driver of learning. We do not seek forced experiences or manufactured encounters; we believe in the authenticity of what happens when nature is simply allowed to be nature. Wildlife is not here to entertain us, it reminds us that we are part of something greater.

Our way of guiding is based on three essential principles:

respect, coherence, and responsibility.

Respect for every living being and its territory.
Coherence between what we communicate and what we practice in the field.
Responsibility in creating experiences that not only inspire, but also contribute to conservation.

We do not promote urgency or the idea of collecting destinations. We promote presence. We believe in experiences where silence has value, where learning is as important as observing, and where creating a positive impact is part of the journey.

Wild Fauno is an invitation to reconnect with nature through humility. To understand that it is not about conquering landscapes, but about learning to coexist with them.

Because protecting nature is not a trend — it’s a way of living in the world.

Because protecting nature is not a trend, it’s a way of life.

HI

I AM NICO,

Naturalist guide and wildlife photographer,

passionate about Patagonia and founder of Wild Fauno.

Over the last ten years, I have traveled through different parts of Chile and the world in search of wild animals.

Since childhood, I’ve felt a deep connection with animals. That’s why the first time I arrived in Patagonia, I was completely captivated by its wildlife, it felt like coming home.

After some time, I traveled to Alaska, at the other end of the continent. I crossed a large part of the territory hitchhiking, sleeping in a hammock, photographing and learning from every animal I encountered. Those were very intense months and, among glaciers and forests, the bears reminded me of the primitive strength of life, an energy that doesn’t need spectacle, only space and dignity.

Later, I returned to Patagonia with the conviction to continue learning from wildlife.

I began my first experiences as a wildlife guide with a specialized tourism company, until the opportunity to travel again appeared, which, in simple terms, meant one thing: new animals.

I later moved to Australia, where I learned about new species and different ecosystems. After traveling through part of the country, I relocated to Tasmania, where I tracked my first wild wombats, Tasmanian devils, and platypuses. They revealed something important to me: nature does not follow human rules, and diversity is one of its greatest expressions.

Later, the journey led me to Asia, specifically to Sri Lanka, where I learned the techniques guides use to track leopards in the dense jungle, while also observing bears, elephants, crocodiles, and much more. There I understood the elegance of balance and the precision of silence.

Years passed in Patagonia, and some time later, with the help of a few friends, I was accepted for a volunteer program in Porto Jofre, in the Pantanal of Brazil. There I learned about the behavior of jaguars, caimans, anacondas, and the immense biodiversity that the Pantanal holds. It was there that Wild Fauno was truly born, shaped by everything I had learned through these encounters between the human gaze and the wild.

Wild Fauno did not begin as a business, but as a journey guided by wonder and a deep respect for nature, where landscapes are not conquered, but honored.

RECONNECT WITH YOUR WILD SIDE

Wild Fauno is built on the belief that traveling is not about conquering destinations, but about learning to coexist with them. It is understanding that conservation is not just a discourse, but a daily practice: choosing to observe without disturbing, to admire without possessing, and to protect without imposing.

Each route, each expedition, and each story seeks to ignite in others the same spark that started it all: the emotion of seeing an animal in its natural environment and realizing that its existence is just as valuable as our own.

Wild Fauno does not only invite you to discover the world, but to reconnect with it, to remember that we are part of nature, not external spectators. And that protecting it is not a heroic act, but an act of coherence with our own nature.
